Catastrophic floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and even terrorist attacks are a reality and CMS is now requiring post-acute care facilities to adequately prepare and plan for these natural and man-made disasters. Final regulations have been set and an implementation date needs to be met.
The auditors have been notified by CMS to expect post-acute care facilities to comply with the requirements of training and testing of the new emergency preparedness regulations by the implementation date of November 15th.
